On September 9th Nailsea United Football Club will be a hosting a ceremony to rename their new changing room facility “The John Hobbs Building.” The Club is honouring the long serving John Hobbs who sadly passed away earlier this year who gave over 50 years of service to the club in various capacities, however he will be mostly remembered as Club Secretary.
During this time John maintained meticulous records dating back to the 1960’s and the club will be making these available for viewing after the ceremony to be held on the 9th. The club would therefore like to invite all players, both past and present to honour John and take the opportunity to relive the many memories that will be contained in these amazing archives.
There will be a marquee erected next to the main pitch at the Grove Sports Centre where the records will be on full display, with food and drink also available on the day. The event will start at about 5pm and carry on until approximately 8pm, although the First Team are in action earlier in the day against local rivals Clevedon United and so everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the game beforehand.
We look forward to welcoming you on the day.
Chairman, Nailsea United FC
